Mom's Corner

Good morning dear precious Hope Chapel Family,

Our Scripture is Isaiah 26:3. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind (thought, imagination) is stayed on Thee.”

Amy wrote: “We all love that word. Thought and imagination can paint the most distressing scenes, till we all but see them. If,  instead of allowing this, we stay our imagination on the Lord, then there is no unrest, no fear, no distress. The peace of God keeps our hearts and minds. That peace passes understanding, but the heart confides in it. (Phil 4:7)

Is there anything troubling me today? “I stretch forth my hands unto Thee, O Lord. Cause me to hear Thy loving kindness in the morning; for in Thee do I trust.” (Psalm 143:6,8)

I love you all in His unspeakable love. mom

Mom's Corner

Good morning dear precious Hope Chapel family,

The message this morning is based on Psalm 147:14. “He maketh peace in thy borders.”

Amy wrote: “There are many things we should greatly like to do, and there are things that all in us  longs to do, but our borders keep us, as it were, hedged in from those things. We cannot cross our borders. They surround us on every side.

Only He Whose understanding is infinite, as the same Psalm says, knows exactly what these borders are. They are different for every soul, but every soul has them, and to each one the word is the same. He maketh peace in our borders—-and making them perfect—-so that peacefulness (not fret) fills all the space between. Is this not a beautiful word?

Have a joyful day and let us love one another as He loves us. Don’t forget to be thankful. I love you all. mom

Mom's Corner

Good morning dear precious Hope Chapel family,

The Scripture God is giving us this morning is Colossians 3:15. “Let the peace of God rule your hearts.”

Amy wrote: “If we open the shutters in the morning the light will pour in. We do not need to beseech it to pour in. It will pour in if we will let it. If we open the sluice in flood-time the water will flow through. We do not plead with it to flow. It will flow if we will let it.

It is so with the peace of God. It will rule in our hearts if only we will let it. If a heart that is disturbed about anything will “let the peace of God rule” (instead of its own desires), that heart may this very day prove this truth. “Let not your heart be troubled: Let the peace of God rule in your hearts.” (John 14:1)

I love you all in His perfect love and peace. Have a heart at peace and let us be thankful for such an awesome God, today. mom

Dear precious Hope Chapel Family,

Peaceful thoughts: Our scripture is Philippians 4:7. “The peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.”

Amy wrote: “This morning this verse helped me very much. There are so many things happening almost every day which would naturally disturb or distress or cast us down. We all know the refuge of prayer, and here we have the promise, not that we shall be instantly given what we want, but that the peace of God shall guard our hearts and thoughts. So the quietness of peaceful thoughts is the  first answer God gives to His needy child, and if our thoughts are peaceful we are peaceful too.

This Scripture is encouraging to me for as a mother, it is so easy to fret over things in even our adult children’s lives. Today, may we let the peace of God rule our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus.

I love you all in His Steadfast love, mom

Mom's Corner

Good morning dear precious Hope Chapel family,

Mom is back in her corner after going through a time with the Lord showing her some areas that she needed to focus on after our 21 days of fasting and praying.

He wants me now to focus on His peace. Our Scripture is John 14:27: “Peace I leave with  you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Our dear old saint, Amy Carmichael wrote: “Sometimes we feel courageous. We feel strong enough to say about some new thing we are asked to do—-“Now bid me run and I will strive with things impossible, Yea, get the  better of  them.”

Sometimes, however, it is not like that. Then these words come, “Peace I leave with you,” peace, not conscious power. But as we go on, power comes to do whatever God wants us to do. First peace—-then power. That is always God’s way. “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

I love you all in His Perfect Love, mom
